LITTLE INCREDIBLES

Little Incredibles Wilderness Camp invites young campers turned explorers to adventure along the mountains, forests and lake shores of Lake Tahoe, CA.

Each week of Little Incredibles will focus on a unique nature-based theme, featuring hands-on activities, outdoor exploration, and engaging lessons tailored to young adventurers. Campers will embark on exciting adventures, from scavenger hunts and hikes to hands-on science experiments and crafts. Little Incredibles helps to foster the next generation of nature lovers and explorers through discovery, creativity and outdoor exploration.

Adventures will take campers to alpine lakes along the Pacific Crest Trail, to the shores of Lake Tahoe, along the watershed of Martis Valley and deep into the Sierra conifer forests and beyond.

New Themes for Summer ‘25

Little Rangers – Campers become junior park rangers with skills like trail mapping and hiking know-how, fire safety, and wildlife stewardship. Through exploration, fun games, and role-playing, campers will learn what it takes to care for nature like a real park ranger. Campers might meet other first responders too, like local US Forestry firefighters, who keep Truckee safe all year long.

Nature’s Builders – Discover how Sierra animals like beavers, birds, and bees shape their environment and build your own nature-inspired creations. Campers will construct dams, nests, and other creations while learning how animals engineer their habitats. Explorations to Sierra meadows, streams and lakes will reveal the vital impact animals have on their ecosystems.

Bug Bonanza – Get up close with insects and pollinators to uncover their fascinating and important roles in the natural world. Through ‘bug safaris’, local compost gardening, and creative crafts, campers will learn how these tiny, remarkable creatures shape their world and our’s. For instance, in the Sierra, bee pollination is nothing short of extraordinary, enabling vibrant wildflower blooms and supporting diverse ecosystems by fostering the reproduction of countless plant species.

Water Wonders – Explore Truckee and Tahoe streams, lakes, and rivers while learning about aquatic life, the water cycle, and the importance of conservation in alpine lakes, rivers and streams. Activities will include building mini-boats, plenty of water play, filtering water from natural sources, and identifying the plants and animals that live nearby. Campers will learn ecological facts all week long – for instance, a drop of water in Lake Tahoe stays for about 650 years, contributing to the lake’s stunning purity and clarity.
