MAMMOTH CLIMBING EXPEDITIONS

In collaboration with Ground Up Climbing Guides, Tahoe Summer Camps is offering an exclusive backcountry camping + climbing expedition to Mammoth Lakes, CA and the Eastern Sierra! Ground Up Climbing is Mammoth’s leading guide service, they know all the sweet climbing and camping sweet spots around the Eastern Sierra, and even a couple ‘secret spots’! With years of experience running climbing camps and guiding youth and adult trips, this adventure expedition along the Eastern Sierra is sure to be excellent.

This is a four day, three night (Tuesday – Friday) adventure that begins and ends at Tahoe Summer Camps base camp, Tahoe Expedition Academy. Experienced Tahoe Summer Camps guides will accompany campers on this trip as well and serve as chaperones / drivers / guides throughout the entirety of this trip.

In the Mammoth Lakes zone, campers will challenge the many pitches and aspects of Clark Canyon, which features climbs for all experience levels on volcanic rock. Climbing accents and repels in Clark Canyon are world class, as are the epic views of the awe inspiring Eastern Sierra summits that rise from the Great Basin. Our remote, picturesque camping spot will feel remote, yet still offer great access to all that the Eastside has to offer. Off pitch, campers will enjoy exploration hikes, alpine lake swims, and hot spring dips.

In addition to camping, belaying and climbing skills, campers will learn about the geology, ecology and the rich history of the Eastern Sierra – and build character throughout this unique, adventure trip!
